seek new challenges elsewhere. Latest news was that Rooney’s camp wanted
clarifications from Manchester United that he did not seek a transfer out
during the end of last season.
Rooney must have remembered
very vividly the reaction (or threats) he received from fans the last time he
ask for a transfer. It was not a nice episode for him and his family. Hence it
is understandable his side would want a public statement from Manchester United. Having that, whether he stays on or not, would help his public image.
Manchester United meanwhile has also given their stand that Rooney is not for
sale, unless he asks for a transfer. It would take a big decision for the club
to not back Sir Alex Ferguson’s end of last season views on Rooney’s standing
within the team.
Fans have to remember that Wayne
Rooney is a star player, commanding a lot of attentions as well as salary.
There may not be many clubs he can go to. Given his adverse reaction to what happened
last time Rooney should be properly advice this time to sort his head properly
and not force a transfer to local rivals like Arsenal or Chelsea (he would
definitely rule out Manchester City). As Anderson had previously mentioned, any
clubs other than Real Madrid and Barcelona (maybe now Bayern Munich) would
