Liverpool Vs Manchester United: Bring it on!!!

Opening game (Swansea 1 ManUtd 4), Chelsea at Old Trafford (0-0) – done, and dusted. Now it is United old (less bitter) rival – Liverpool, next at Anfield. What would United’s fans expect then?
Playing at Anfield can still be daunting given the histories of rivalries between Manchester United and Liverpool. Liverpool at the moment sits above United in the table due to two wins (rather unconvincing especially against Stoke City). This will be Brendan Rodgers early test too. The legendary bad boy a.k.a. the biter (Luiz Suarez) will not make an appearance due to his ban from last season. Liverpool is also rocked by ‘triple’ injury blow as Kolo Toure, Joe Allen and Aly Cissokho limp off during their wins over Notts County in League Cup game on Wednesday. Adding to that captain Steven Gerrard also hints that United may have the advantage due to extra rest days before the match up at Anfield.

For Manchester United, David Moyes has the rejuvenated Wayne Rooney to partner Robin Van Persie up front. Rooney’s history (or bad blood) with Liverpool is well documented, as is Moyes – having managed Everton for more than 10 years. Moyes will need to go to Anfield attacking and not settle for a point as United is a class above Liverpool at the moment. It is also interesting to see whether Moyes will finally utilize Shinji Kagawa. The Japanese playmaker has not seen action for the two premiership games so far and with his ability should be seriously consider for a starting spot. United’s fans has also yet to see Wilfred Zaha and the highly rated Adnan Januzaj, as well as players like Fabio da Silva and Chris Smalling making their first team appearance.

So without Suarez, the injury crisis and lesser rest an early excuse for Liverpool not to come out with 3 points on Sunday, forgetting the fact that the game is at Anfield? Whatever outcome of the game at this point may not be relevant just yet but any match up between this two clubs promises to be explosive for both sides of the supporters, bearing in mind that they will meet again end of September at Old Trafford for the League Cup third round.
