Mourinho: The Manchester’s titles last 2 seasons were easy!

Jose Mourinho – being the ‘veteran’ among the three title contenders has continues his mind games, by saying that both the Manchester’s clubs last two seasons’ wins was easy – the opponents were not of quality. Any decent football fans know – this isn’t facts Mourinho was stating, merely mind games from Mourinho ahead of the start of the new season. Football fans would testify that the Premier League, despite the breakaway group of three to five teams at the top, is not an easy league to plays in. The close rivalries, the derbies, and almost insane winter fixtures pile up or the interpretation of the rules all contributes to make the Premier League one of the hardest leagues to compete in.
Take Manchester City’s title two seasons ago – it was decided on goal differences, not just on the last day but at the last few minutes. There had not been such scenario ever in the Premier League history. Millions of fans hold their breath – literally, even after Manchester United had beaten Sunderland. It is not until Sergio Aguero last gasp goal had City seal the title. And for much of the match City was actually playing catch up – despite having extra man advantage.

For Manchester United’s fans last season title was the result of the pain and manner of losing it the season before. Everybody in the team from Sir Alex Ferguson to the players have learn from it. Fergie made sure of that and United had the best start to the season like never before. The hungers in the players were evident and of course the signing of Robin Van Persie and Shinji Kagawa brought additional qualities to the team. Fans should not forget that Sir Alex Ferguson even made last minute changes to his team after City were beaten by Southampton – just three days ahead of  the mega showdown with Real Madrid at Bernabeu. Fergie by then knew he was going to retire and wanted to ensure that the 20th League title comes first before anything else. The title came in April due to the commitment and hunger shown by the team and the final 11 points winning margin should therefore come as no surprise given City's inability to keep up in the race.

Jose Mourinho, having his second stints at Chelsea knows better. In fact he is older, wiser and more experience, after his stints at Inter Milan and Real Madrid. As former Liverpool player Jamie Carragher said, Sir Alex Ferguson himself is easily worth 10 extra points for Manchester United. Therefore what he is doing is merely up the mind games – early on, since both the Manchester clubs are going through managerial transitions. He (Mourinho) had learned from the maestro!
