Transfer News/ Rumours as at 24 July: Not giving up on Cesc Fabregas yet?

It’s been rather quiet on the transfer news front for the last few days. The one credible news all Manchester United fans can adhere to is that Man Utd has made an improved offer of more than £30 million for Cesc Fabregas, despite Barcelona insisting that the player is not for sale.

Cesc Fabregas himself has been quiet while over at Nou Camp new development has taken place with Manchester United taking advantage of the current situation in the ‘managerless’ Barcelona. Fabregas is currently down the pecking order in Barcelona midfield and he will need assurance of his place from the incoming manager. The sudden departure of Tito Vilanova due to illness has suddenly shift Nou Camp focus on signing new manager, rather than focusing on incoming transfers or fending off outgoing transfers. But this will take time and it is now that David Moyes might get his man knowing this is the time to turn ‘unsette’ Fabregas.
Elsewhere the Cristiano Ronaldo’s link – is still ‘alive’. There has been no news lately. Same goes for Gareth Bale where an offer has been made. In these cases, no news may also be good news. What Manchester United fans can do is to persevere as marquee signing has been made a priority by the club’s hierarchy. The Wayne Rooney saga too has turn quiet – for now. Aside from the importance of signing a marquee player under David Moyes’ reign, the sooner the transfer activities are sorted out the sooner the focus can be on preparing for the assault on title no 21!
