Transfer News/ Rumours as at 19th of July: Ronaldo, Bale, Fabregas, Rooney?

What a turnaround last few days with the Wayne Rooney’s saga! With Thiago Alcantara looking forward to his first Octokberfest, Cesc Fabregas undecided, rumour of a bid for Gareth Bale, the transfer window just gets exciting again. Let’s take a look at the ‘big-name/ margue’ signing prospects only. We’ll leave other transfers prospect for another article.

Cristiano Ronaldo: Manchester United fans would welcome him, anytime – full stop. Only CR7 can decide. Also read this.

Gareth Bale: Reported bid in the region of £60 million, and we are dealing with Daniel Levy as well as a team so dependent on him for Champions League Football. Maybe Fergie and Giggsy should start ‘behind the scenes’ work to help out.

Cesc Fabregas: With Thiago Alcantara out, Barcelona looks more likely to keep Fabregas, as (1) reliable backup and (2) strong substitute, impact player. Fabregas is home grown, another strong reason for him staying. In addition to that Cesc Fabregas is very highly rated, considered established player on his own right having won the European championship, World Cup and La Liga titles. Therefore his commercial draw is good enough reason for Barcelona to keep him, even if he is not [unable to] playing regularly.

Wayne Rooney: This is supposed to be outgoing transfer. There is still slight possibility of Rooney staying. Make no mistake, Wayne Rooney is a very good player, for Manchester United, England or any other club. But Rooney has got to sort this out sooner or his game will suffer. He loves his football but apparently has seems to attract headlines for wrong reasons (thank goodness he is not at Luiz Suarez’s level!).
