It’s
been a week since the last article on transfers, Manchester United transfers
news. Just when most Manchester United fans thought there would be good news on
the transfer front, it is the exact opposite. Here are the 3 main movements, summarized:
1.
The Wayne Rooney saga continues. First
he ‘got’ himself injured and was sent home. It was considered minor hamstring
injury and it was suggested that its best that he be back home doing his rehabilitation.
Conspiracy theorists will have field days with this. Now, Wayne Rooney’s head
is not at the right place at the moment. With all his team-mates thousands of
miles away and with the home media buzzing over his future, it could
potentially turns his decision (assuming current status where his club will not
sell him).
2.
One of Manchester United major target, Barcelona’s Thiago Alcantara has been
rumoured to favors a move to Bayern Munich instead despite numerous reports
suggesting he had agreed personal terms with Man Utd. At this juncture, Bayern
Munich looks a better bet because of one reason, or one man – Pep Guardiola. The
former Barcelona manager was rumoured to be close to Thiago Alcantara and rated
him very highly. While there has been no confirmation on this matter, common sense
suggests that Pep Guardiola has the biggest advantage. The only one drawback
here for Thiago is that Bayern Munich already has a collection of highly rated
midfielders and Thiago’s main reason for a transfer is – game time.
3.
Manchester United first pre-season games and also David Moyes first game in
charge of Manchester United after succeeding the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson
ended with a 0-1 loss! Yes, its pre-season, friendly games but it is against a
fairly decent (no disrespect to Singha All Stars) opposition. The line-up too
looks fairly ‘familiar’. Let’s just hope this is due to lack of preparation and
the game this weekend in Sydney Australia would be more favorable.
Most of us fans
will be hoping that the coming weeks may sees actual transfer happening and not
doing catching up when the transfer deadline approaches, remember Lucas Moura
last season?.
