Finally
the truth is out – Manchester United did bid for Gareth Bale, as revealed by
Fiorentino Perez. How much was the bid remained a secret to the football fans
and David Moyes was adamant to this. Over the summer the two marquee signings
United should be more likely to bid more, as indicated by www.manutd-newera.blogspot.com were Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth
Bale. How ironic is that both are playing in the same team now - at Real
Madrid!. How United supporters would wish for this, and what actually went
wrong – why do we failed?
July 1, 2013, David Moyes officially takes over from the great Sir Alex Ferguson....

Transfer News: David Moyes will buy again!
Depending
on the source of news it was reported that the Glaziers will sanction big money
for manager David Moyes to dip into the winter transfer window – and shop.
Various names had been linked, notably Ander Hererra of Athletic Bilbao,
Leighton Baines of Everton and Fabio Coentrao of Real Madrid. Of the three
probably Coentrao will be European cup-tied leaving Baines and Herrera as the
more obvious choices – do we need them?

Manchester United Vs Liverpool: The Return of the ‘Biter’
Any
Manchester United Vs Liverpool game is exciting given the histories between the
two most successful clubs in English football, and this one is no exception
despite being a Capital One Cup fixture (formerly League Cup). Both managers
will be targeting the Capital One Cup as a source of silverware as well as
opportunities to give squad players and youngsters a chance to play first team
football. However this fixture will have an added spice – the return of the
‘biter’ a.k.a. Luiz Suarez.

The Rest of Other Champions League Result: Ronaldo Rules!!
After
the first round of Champions League matches for this season, the scorelines
have one thing in common – high scoring games. For English teams, Manchester
United beats Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 and Manchester City downs Viktoria Plzen 3-0,
Arsenal beats Marseille 2-1 and the ‘Not-So-Special One a.k.a. egg’ (Chelsea)
lost to FC Basel 2-1 – at Stamford Bridge!

Transfer News: Cristiano Ronaldo Signs New Deal… With Real Madrid
Yes,
he finally did it – he got things his way, again. Cristiano Ronaldo has just
sign a new contract extension with Real Madrid and with that ends any hopes for
Manchester United’s fans worldwide. Just as Gareth Bale did less than two weeks
ago, United’s fans are disappointed yet again (read this), for these two players are supposed to be the
marquee signings for United in the new era (at least either one of them).

Transfer News: It’s been Ronaldo all the while
There
is this interesting bit of news reported, although it never come from
Manchester United themselves – guess it never will, that Cristiano Ronaldo has
been the intended/ targeted marquee signing all along…….

Transfer News: Manchester United, Arsenal Vs Other Title Contenders
Chelsea,
Manchester City bought their new players rather early and spend the remaining
weeks of the transfer window ‘doing window shopping’ – only to buy when there
is a proper need (in City’s case), or ‘indulging purchase (for example Chelsea
signing of Willian). Tottenham Hotspurs did remarkably well with club record
signing one after another plus cashing in massively over the sale of the
overvalued Gareth Bale. Only Manchester United and Arsenal were left behind…in
terms of new players arriving.

Transfer News: The last hours… Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini in
With
less than 6 hours before the transfer window closes, it has been frantic – with
clubs engaged in multiple transfer deals, most of these deals have been stream
live over major media organizations. Let’s concentrate on Manchester United’s
transfer activities…
The
biggest news would be the arrival of 24-year-old Ander Herrera from Athletic
Bilbao. Manchester United had reported agreed to meet Athletic Bilbao’s release
clause for Herrara – reported to be in the region of £30.5 million. Herrera is
a midfielder in the mould of former Bilbao’s man – Javi Martinez, now at Bayern
Munich. Not a world class player but rather a midfielder with a lot of
potential. At 24 years old he will fit into United’s buying policy.
The
other credible news for Manchester United’s fans is the expected signing of Marouane
Fellaini from Everton. While it seems that United had given up on Leighton
Baines, the news on Fellaini are more credible. Baines had reported for
international duties with England while Fellaini has been given extra time by
the Belgian FA – presumably to conclude the deal with United.
Elseway,
Roma has flatly rejected Manchester United’s attempt at signing Danielle De
Rossi and Mesut Ozil has reportedly agreed terms with Arsenal just hours ago. Ozil,
a creative midfielder had been reported to be in favour of a United move but with
United eyeing Luka Modric, he settle for Arsenal instead.
Meanwhile
Manchester United’s supporters had to ‘feast’ their eyes on Gareth Bale being
unveil – as Real Madrid player!
Well,
enough said, we wish him the best, if La Liga for some reason do not work out,
a loan move to Old Trafford is possible – seriously, Bale will be fine,
everything could however hinges on Cristiano Ronaldo….
There
are still a few hours of the transfer windows remaining. It may looks like two
quality (but hardly marquee signing) midfielders are coming to Old Trafford but
be prepare for further twists in the transfer market (remember Manchester United’s
‘cheeky bid’ at Neymar on the last day of previous summer transfers?). Watch
this space!
Transfer News/Updates: Desperation signing time!
Less
than 12 hours to go, we take a look at Premier League title contenders’ last
minutes probable signings. And out of the six from the Manchester clubs, and
the London’s top clubs (Chelsea, Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspurs), Spurs, Chelsea
and City had done their signings – the bulk of them. Only Arsenal and Manchester United
are now frantically working out last minutes deals.

Transfer News/Updates: Rooney staying and still no new signing!
Looks
like Wayne Rooney is staying – after the ‘show of love’ from supporters.
Leighton Baines and Marouane Fellaini look set to join David Moyes at
Manchester United. Samuel Eto’o has arrived at Stamford Bridge as a blues,
joining former teammate Willian. Arsene Wenger goes for another free signing in
Mathieu Flamini. Elseway, Real Madrid looks set to pull down the stage for
Gareth Bale.
Manchester United 0 Chelsea 0: Rooney still dominates headlines
It
ended a 0-0 draw. David Moyes may probably draw a sniff of relief – so do some
Manchester United’s fans and most probably Jose Mourinho. It is Moyes first
game at Old Trafford since replacing the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, a
historic moment indeed. But Wayne Rooney is the one dominating the headline. Was
the draw fair?

Transfer News/Updates: Gareth Bale to Manchester United!
This
speculation just would not go away. Just when it seems over, and yet it came
alive again. The question to ask is not whether we want Gareth Bale, rather
than if the Manchester United’s hierarchy will approve the kind of money
involved in this deal.

Manchester United Vs Chelsea: We are ready!
Two
days to go ahead of this mega match-up between defending champion Manchester United and title contender Chelsea, who coincidently sits on top of the Premier
League table – courtesy of that extra game (and win) against Aston Villa. One
thing for sure, we can expect Jose Mourinho to continue his ‘mind games’,
making statements - especially on the Wayne Rooney issue. He needs to, based on United’s win over Swansea and the fact
that it is at Old Trafford.

Cristiano Ronaldo : Heading back to Old Trafford?
Less
than two weeks before the transfer window closes, smart money is that Cristiano
Ronaldo is not coming. With both the Premier League and La Liga already
started, it is highly unlikely a player of Ronaldo’s calibre would make a
switch this late, or like they said – in football you never know….especially
when Gareth Bale transfer is about to be finalized.
Transfer News/Updates: 23 August – Bale and Rooney on the verge….
The
latest news reported that the Gareth Bale transfer saga is nearing its
completion. And Jose Mourinho is preparing another bid for wantaway Manchester United’s striker Wayne Rooney – but not before the showdown between United and
Chelsea on the 26th August.
Thursday, 22 August 2013
Transfer News/Updates: 22 August – Samuel Eto – No please! Luke Shaw ,Yes please
Luke
who? Luke Shaw from Southampton, an 18 year old highly rated leftback who apparently
had been under the radar during Sir Alex Ferguson’s time. And possibility of
Samuel Eto coming to Manchester United, or Chelsea, or even Arsenal?
Tuesday, 20 August 2013
Transfer News/Updates: 20 August – Be prepare - another deadline signing (s) summer
Less
than two weeks to go before the transfer window shuts, there is only that one
signing, Guillermo Varela from Penarol who? And while David Moyes and the
Manchester United’s hierarchy insist that they are working hard behind the
scenes towards new signings, indication so far is that United may well goes
into the new season as they were last season – minus Paul Scholes.

Ronaldo and Bale in the same team?
If
the current news of the transfer market is to become reality, fans – football
fans around the world will have a mouth watering match up - imagine this, Cristiano Ronaldo and Gareth
Bale – playing for Real Madrid, and Lionel Messi and Neymar playing for
Barcelona. What a match up that would be. Let’s focus on the former – Ronaldo
and Bale, will it work?...

Rooney, Bale, Suarez and Ronaldo: Nobody going anywhere, just yet
With
two weeks of transfer activities remaining a lot still can happen. But the
sagas, the standoff and the controversies aside, no deal had been done. Even
though Wayne Rooney and Luiz Suarez are reported to be eyeing a move, their
respective clubs, Manchester United and Liverpool are standing firm with their
decisions not to sell their star players. The Gareth Bale negotiation
meanwhile, is supposed to be ongoing..
Transfer News/Updates: 13 August – Russian club and Everton
With
rest than 3 weeks to go, it appears that transfer activities – for Manchester United (as well as its closest rivals) had been blowing hot and cold. While
David Moyes has been insisting that there are still ongoing activities on the
transfer fronts it appears quite likely that for Manchester United fans, it is
going to be the same team from last season, with the biggest and only change/
transfer coming in being – David Moyes.
