The
night belongs to these two players – Javier Hernandez and Fabio da Silva. Two
players that find it hard to get game times under new manager David Moyes. For
once the score line reflects the class between the two sides but of course both
sides did field squad players and youngsters. Still, this win completes the
last of the four series of home games for Manchester United at Old Trafford
this month and it can be deemed – satisfactory (3 wins and a draw).
July 1, 2013, David Moyes officially takes over from the great Sir Alex Ferguson....

Capital One Cup – Manchester United Vs Norwich City: Let’s see the others!
On
the back of that much talk about performance from Manchester United against
Stoke City, the attention shift to the next fixture – Capital One home fixture
against Norwich City. For once too since Sir Alex Ferguson’s reign, this might
not be that one fixture where United fans will get to see more younger players –
with the exception of Adnan Januzaj, or maybe Wilfred Zaha.

Premier League - Manchester United Vs Southampton: Who is it going to be Moyes?
Always
the talking point for all of Manchester United’s fans everywhere – who is going
to be David Moyes starting XI? After 26 years of Sir Alex Ferguson, most United
fans – despite Ferguson’s constant rotation – can almost knows the way Ferguson
picked his team. But since Moyes took over – an unconvincing one so far – his
team selection still leaves many United fans scratching their heads.

Transfer News: Kagawa, Valencia Out?
With
the winter transfer window fast approaching, Manchester United – after the
debacle of the summer transfer – has been continuingly linked with various
players, the latest being a swap deal involving Leighton Baines and Antonio
Valencia. The other swap deal circulating in the rumors mills is Shinji Kagawa
and Borussia Dortmund’s Neven Subotic.

Sunderland 1 Manchester United 2: This is a relief!
This
win is a welcome relief – for Manchester United, for the fans and especially
for David Moyes as he began his reign as United manager in a dreadful manner.
Was it a convincing performance – definitely no, as United needed 18 year old
debutant Adnan Januzaj to save them from another uninspiring performance.

Shakhtar Donetsk Vs Manchester United: Have Moyes Learnt?
This
will be the first away Champions league games for David Moyes – and he needs to
make sure he gets it right. After a difficult start to the season – 8 games, 4
wins, 3 losses and 1 draw – makes it looks right Moyes is really out of depth
in his job as the new manager of Manchester United, or is he?

Manchester United Vs West Bromwich Albion: The win must continue…
After
the Manchester derby thrashing and the much needed win over Liverpool in the
Capital One Cup, the headlines had been David Moyes – about how his performance
as the manager of Manchester United has been so far. Critics are everywhere but
there are sections of fans as well as former United players coming out in
defense of Moyes.

Manchester United Vs Liverpool: The Return of the ‘Biter’
Any
Manchester United Vs Liverpool game is exciting given the histories between the
two most successful clubs in English football, and this one is no exception
despite being a Capital One Cup fixture (formerly League Cup). Both managers
will be targeting the Capital One Cup as a source of silverware as well as
opportunities to give squad players and youngsters a chance to play first team
football. However this fixture will have an added spice – the return of the
‘biter’ a.k.a. Luiz Suarez.

Manchester City 4-1 Manchester United: What a farce!
Nothing
goes right for David Moyes and his men on the night. Moyes send out the wrong
team on the night where he (and City’s Manuel Pellegrini) needs to prove
himself. To add to that Moyes also sends out the wrong message, is he back to
his Everton’s days mentality once a game of this magnitude comes around?

Manchester City Vs Manchester United: Any Win Will Be Important for Both
With
the Champions League out of the way, both Manuel Pellegrini and David Moyes are
set to clash head on for this Sunday’s Manchester derby. Both teams sit on 7 points,
3 behind the surprise league leader – Liverpool (yes, the permanent residence
from midtable!). What will this derby means for both teams?

Manchester United 4 Bayer Leverkusen 2: This is more like it…almost!
All
the ‘first’ – David Moyes first Champions League game for Manchester United,
first Champions League wins for United and himself, first Champions League win
ever for United under someone other than the legendary Sir Alex Ferguson, and
the list would go on but United fans would take this result. It is comfortable
but not entirely convincing – for the soft goals that Bayer Leverkusen managed
to scored.

Manchester United Vs Bayer Leverkusen: Moyes must be ready
This
is another series of first: David Moyes first group stage Champions League game,
first Champions League game for Manchester United, first Champions League game
for Manchester United at Old Trafford. Moyes is so new to this job there are so
many ‘first’, but does it matter and how will he fare?

Transfer News: Manchester United, Arsenal Vs Other Title Contenders
Chelsea,
Manchester City bought their new players rather early and spend the remaining
weeks of the transfer window ‘doing window shopping’ – only to buy when there
is a proper need (in City’s case), or ‘indulging purchase (for example Chelsea
signing of Willian). Tottenham Hotspurs did remarkably well with club record
signing one after another plus cashing in massively over the sale of the
overvalued Gareth Bale. Only Manchester United and Arsenal were left behind…in
terms of new players arriving.

Manchester United Vs Chelsea: We are ready!
Two
days to go ahead of this mega match-up between defending champion Manchester United and title contender Chelsea, who coincidently sits on top of the Premier
League table – courtesy of that extra game (and win) against Aston Villa. One
thing for sure, we can expect Jose Mourinho to continue his ‘mind games’,
making statements - especially on the Wayne Rooney issue. He needs to, based on United’s win over Swansea and the fact
that it is at Old Trafford.

Transfer News/ Updates: 9 August: Status Quo
By
now the transfer market is dominated mainly by these names – Gareth Bale, Wayne
Rooney, and Luiz Suarez – again. While there are movements lower down the
league these three players still dominate the headlines....

Rio Ferdinand Testimonial: Why fans should not miss this match?
One
word – Usain Bolt! Is he down to play at Rio Ferdinand’s testimonial as had
been suggested by the media all along. But seriously this could all just
publicity as the Athletics World Championship is schedule on the 10th – 18th August,
with Bolt’s main event the 100m slotted on the 10th and 11th,
and his other event – the 200m schedule on 16th and 17th
August. This legendary sprinter – a self confess Manchester United fan was even
quoted saying he might make an appearance. Fat chance……
